Well done Andy, I have one of these, and i too am a "flipper" with a release like you, and my bad shots are straight or pully "power draws" (AKA hooks) This is the best description i have seen of the GEM so far, mst seem to focus on the slice fixing, and as a result many people in the comments are saying it isn't for them as they are not slicers. Well i'm not a slicer either, but it works for me. straight high draws instead of low hooks and low draws. The start right and come back onto target rather than starting on the target line and drawing or hooking off.

For me years of doing things wrong already has my torso ahead of my arms where the arms are slowly dragged along too late. This arm high chest getting to impact first is slower swinging with more inconsistent impact. Pete's pressure down and throwing the hands and arms under the shoulders style drills give me higher speeds and more of a sensation of applying pressure.

Thanks Andy. I was doing a range session at the weekend at slowed my back swing right down to about 2-3 seconds and then concentrated on the acceleration from around 30% on my downswing and was hitting much straighter and longer driver and irons.

Thanks for the tip, Andy. I teach swords, and it's the same principle, with a surprisingly similar skill set. I do a lot of core exercises to help stabilise my swing during fatigue and develop power.

Those two missed 4-5 footers for birdies are bloody annoying! But as you say,sometimes you hole one you don’t deserve. I count it as two putts if just off the green

Excellent video Andy on how to create an effortless, powerful swing without hitting it hard! I've found over 70 years of golfing that 80% power is always better. I like the "chest away from the target" on the backswing and then the "gravity drop" of the club to hip level and turning the "chest to the target" on the downswing. Very simple and effortless! Well Done Andy!

Andy, good luck with your International series and Open qualifying. I spoke with a DP World tour pro pal of mine about Aimpoint on tour, he said “all the poor putters try it, need something other than a poor stroke to blame” top players at the US Open were not using it, only some of the 2nd string and those with putting issues. He also said that some US University coaches use it, but they also used to have all their teams use broomstick putters. He asked trusted player who had taken the course, but immediately dumped it, why? common answer, less productive inside 15ft, lag putting is more about pace than line.

Misunderstanding this topic awhile ago caused me some big swing issues, got too steep with shoulders stalled my turn and got pressure on toes. Never got how to do achieve the position you mention until I realised the tilts come from how we setup to hit a ball on the ground like you mentioned in older videos

I counted two when I used putter twice

I chip with ny putter when it's off the green then putt when its on the green. I can chip with any number of clubs, but it's always a chip 😉👍

I would only count putts on the green. Anything else wouldn't be a GiR. And if I'm lucky enough, I would count as one putt. Nice round, I would be over the moon to play as half as decent.

Well played. Really well, in fact. Only on the missed birdie putts my hand spontaneously went to my mouth/chin at some point and then slid desperately down my throat. As if I was playing there, I was suffering so much personally at that moment. And at the end on hole 18, well, that's when it happened the way it had to happen... didn't it?
